Midwest Dairy Presents Scholarships at SDSU Dairy and Food Science Scholarship and Awards Banquet

The 2018 Dairy and Food Science Scholarship and Awards Banquet was held in April on the SDSU campus. The event featured over 300 people in attendance, including students and parents, donors and supporters, industry representatives, and SDSU faculty and staff.

Midwest Dairy provided a total of 5 scholarships to current and incoming students in the Dairy Science Department.

State Division Board Member, Marv Post and myself had the opportunity to present the Midwest Dairy Association Scholarships to current student recipients Alexandra Preszler and Katie Hendrickson (see photo).

In addition, 3 other scholarships were awarded to incoming freshmen Meghan Hettinga of Orange City, Iowa; Shelby Kuechle of Eden Valley, MN; and Bethany Rennich of Bruce, SD.

Scholarships recipients are selected by the Department of Dairy Science Scholarship Committee based on demonstrated scholarship, need, leadership, and character. Preference is given to students who are from South Dakota.
